My comfort show is New Girl. I love how optimistic it is and I enjoy watching how all of the characters with such different personalities interact with one another.

Question: What is your comfort show or movie?
My comfort show probably has to be How I Met Your Mother! I watched it my freshman year of college and I was able to just binge the show throughout due to the amount of seasons it had. It was comforting getting to see the characters of the show, all from different backgrounds, grow as people alongside me in a new environment, and I honestly find it very relatable for people during the same life stages of them. It’s definitely worth rewatching to pick up the little hints and details I might’ve missed on the first watch through. It’s a show that’ll stick to me for a long time and I’m so grateful to have watched it during such a formative time of my life!

Question: Who is your favorite music artist and how have they impacted your life?
My favorite artist is Adele. I grew up listening to her, so her music carries this nostalgic vibe for me. Certain songs instantly pull me back to specific memories and people from different parts of my life. Her music has always felt really honest, and I just keep coming back to it no matter what.

Question: If you were a season, which would it be and why?
My favorite season is spring. After a long, cold winter, spring feels comforting and rejuvenating. Flowers are in full bloom and everything looks beautiful and colorful, I love seeing the cherry blossoms come to life during this time. The weather is perfect, it’s not too hot or cold but just right.

Question: Who is your favorite music artist and how have they impacted your life?
My favorite music artist is Blood Orange aka Dev Hynes, and he’s impacted my life in so many ways. Apart from making such great music, I think what really resonated with me was how his music addresses complexities in the black diaspora and discussed the mix of gender identity with being black. I love how futuristic his music sounds with influences from the 60s and 80s! My favorite song is Chance!

Question: Who is your favorite music artist and how have they impacted your life?
I would say one of my favorite music artists who has impacted my life is 100% SZA. She’s been with me since i was an awkward kid, an unsure teen, and will be here as I blossom into adulthood. I’ve managed to find myself relating to her songs through each stage of my life. Her music just has a way of making you feel comfortable in growing up and making mistakes and learning how to authentically be yourself which has and continues to mean a lot from one black girl to another.

One of my favorite music artists is Lauryn Hill. She is the representation for me as a Black woman to be great regardless of my flaws. We are individuals that deserve to be imperfect without being scrutinized.

My comfort show is Glee because of how unhinged, funny, and creative it is. Underneath the chaotic storylines and one liners, I love watching the character development of each character. In addition, I love the diversity represented in the show and its connection to music. #Gleek.

My favorite artist by far has to be Bad Bunny, his newest album and his previous albums have definitely allowed me to cherish my Puerto Rican heritage and given me more confidence to speaking in Spanish and embrace my culture.

If I were a season, I’d be spring because I’m constantly growing. Just as spring follows a long winter, I have trust in my journey because I’ve learned that some of the best things emerge from change. Im also drawn to the energy that spring brings such as the bright colors, blooming flowers, and longer days.

My comfort show is Anne with an E because I think I watched at a very correct point in my life where I was the same age that Anne was and dealing with the same issues of identity and figuring out where I belonged.

Question: If you were a season, which would it be and why?
I feel like I would be fall just because fall has days when it’s really hot out, kind of warm and a little chilly; you know it never really has a set temperature for the whole season. I feel like no one has a set personality and/or mood for each chapter of their life and having different opinions and motivations for each of these it something I feel like defines who I am. Some days are definitely better than others for me and the accumulation of these days are what makes me me. Like how the different temperatures of each day is what makes fall, fall.
